What's happening with my personal files if memory is changed?

Hi, I have a Sony VAIO laptop and I want to upgrade my RAM memory… Do I lose any data or any personal files?

Hello,

No, absolutely NOT. RAM or random access memory is the so called volatile memory. That’s because all the data you have in your RAM is lost each time you turn off your computer.

All your data is stored on your HDD (hard disk drive) and if that component is ok then all your data is ok, no matter what other changes you make on your computer.

Bogdan
